This project aims to create a compelling visualization/infographic that educates and informs the audience about the specific topic of meat production and its significant impact on the environment and society. The journey begins with a critical question, "How many animals are killed for food?" leading viewers on an immersive exploration of the meat industry's historical evolution in the USA and consumption trends Worldwide.

When contemplating the primary sources of environmental degradation, automobile exhaust gases, indiscriminate use of coal raw materials, and plastic abuse often come to mind. Surprisingly, many are unaware that our very dinner table also contributes significantly to pollution. Paradoxically, the significant effect is not humans but nature-friendly animals at the heart of this issue.
The insatiable human desire for meat has led to a surge in factory-style livestock farming, exacerbating global warming and environmental challenges. The focal point of this study is to delve into the escalating global meat production and raise awareness about its impact on the environment, specifically regarding pollution.
This exploration will shed light on the consequences of increasing meat consumption and how the meat production industry affects our environment. By understanding the far-reaching effects of our dietary choices, we hope to foster greater environmental consciousness and encourage sustainable practices.

Based on topic selection, the research started stepping into a world of data-driven revelations to paint a vivid picture of the global meat industry's complexities and implications. With meticulous data collection and engaging data visualizations, the infographics presented provide a comprehensive and visually engaging exploration of the multifaceted meat industry, offering valuable insights.

Initially, I attempted to visualize the data using stacked bar charts to depict the increase in global meat consumption over time. I also wanted to showcase meat consumption in leading countries.
However, due to the vast amount of data, it took time to simplify effectively. I considered using line graphs for each leading nation, but Still, they only displayed subtle changes, so I tried the Area Chart format and extended the data duration to show more considerable differences.
After receiving feedback, I changed the entire visualization into area charts. I found another dataset that divides global meat consumption into continents, effectively showing changes over time and relationships between countries better than the stacked bar. The focus of this chart is to convey the increasing global meat production trend over time.
Display colours in each legend to distinguish categories
Use commas or increase units to handle the vast numbers.
For this dataset, I used a pie chart to illustrate the types of livestock generally produced for meat consumption in Canada and their respective proportions.
Label each slice of the pie directly with the corresponding data
Sort the data from largest to smallest and label them in that order
The map displays countries with the highest meat consumption per capita, measured in kilograms per person per year.
Label the top 5 meat-consuming countries to demonstrate that high-income countries tend to consume more meat.
Provide more specific data to enhance clarity.
This dataset highlights the environmental impact of meat production. The bar graph clearly indicates that beef production contributes significantly more to greenhouse gas emissions than other animals.
Instead of using legends, label each bar directly next to it.
Navigating through a vast amount of data was a challenge in creating this project. To effectively communicate key points, I extracted the most important information and selected appropriate graphics. I used techniques like aggregation and filtering to highlight critical data and employed interactive data visualization tools. Throughout the design process, I prioritized clarity and relevance to create engaging and informative graphics for the audience.
Through the process of designing Statistical & Relational Infographics, a captivating narrative emerges, unveiling the intricate relationships between meat consumption, environmental consequences, and global supply dynamics.
An especially compelling insight emerges from the "Meat Supply per Person 2017" map, highlighting the USA as the leading country in meat consumption. This revelation sparks curiosity, prompting a deeper exploration into the evolution of meat production and its profound impact on society and the environment.
In the upcoming Temporal Infographic, we embark on a historical journey through the evolution of meat production in the USA. This storyline delves into the past to uncover how the meat industry has evolved, shedding light on critical moments and trends that have shaped its current state. From the early days of agricultural societies to the rise of factory farming and fast-food culture, we witness the profound transformations that have fueled the human desire for meat consumption.

The design concept adopts a retro style to depict the history of meat production, effectively conveying the project's objective.
A sophisticated color palette featuring deep Black, rich Primary Color sets the tone and vibrant Accent, while Source Sans Pro Bold ensures clear subheadings, and Oswald Semibold commands heavy attention as headlines.
